Dzięki oszczędnemu gospodarowaniu zasobami i wykorzystaniu gnojowicy do produkcji energii elektrycznej i cieplnej w naszych biogazowniach, zbilansowana emisja w przeliczeniu na ekwiwalent dwutlenku węgla wynosi 0 (zero) kg CO2 na 1kg wyprodukowanego mięsa!
Poldanor is one of the biggest pig producers in Poland. Pig breeding in Poldanor is based on a breeding material of a very good quality with very high health status. We have developed and keep constantly improving a set of procedures and rules of production which help us to ensure the animal welfare and at the same time to maintain breeding at a high European level.
Poldanor SA farms meet all the requirements of the European law regulations. The equipment of the building facilities provides the highest standard of living conditions for the animals. We pay special attention to the animal welfare which has an enormous influence on their health and growth. We use toys to limit the phenomenon of boredom. We respect the needs related to the animal natural behaviour, which is why we created a program for reducing stress.
Our pig breeding is a three-phase process: sow farms -> weaner farms – > finisher farms. In order to guarantee the optimal health and sanitary conditions we do not mix animals from different types of farms. Each sow farm has one weaner farm designated to it. And each weaner farm always sends its weaners to the same finisher farm. This kind of systems gives us possibility to divide the animals into technological groups, and hence, establish greater specialization of personnel and equipment.
By observing the BIOSECURITY principles of movement of people and vehicles we are able to guarantee a high health status of our animals. The BIOSECURITY program protects animals against exposure to an infective agent. The personnel move between the farms according to the scheme defined by the official veterinarian. Transport of feed and animals is planned so that to minimize the risk of potential spread of infectious diseases.
We have our own transport which provides proper conditions during loading, transportation and unloading of pigs. To ensure good travelling conditions the floor in our trailers is covered with sawdust and ventilation is adjusted to the ambient temperature.
Poldanor farms more than 13 thousand ha of land, growing mainly wheat, triticale, rape, rye and maize, which is used both as a component in the feed production and a substrate in biogas production. One of the elements that allow us to obtain high yields is a rational use of natural fertilizers in the periods of the plants’ peak demand for nutrients.
Among our machinery there is an agricultural equipment of renowned international companies. We have been working with the global satellite navigation system GPS for many years, reducing the costs related to the use of pesticides and fertilizers, and, which is the most important, minimizing their impact on the environment. Continuous investments in the new technology of deep injection of slurry eliminate the nuisance of fertilizing for the surroundings.
Our modern feed production plant provides our animals with the highest quality feed adjusted to their needs in various stages of growth. We pay great attention to the quality of components used in production. Parameters of components and final product are subject to the regular inspection. Recipes of feed are developed by the specialists who keep close observation of each stage of feed production. The feed production plant operates according to the HACCP system.
Poldanor’s strategy is based on development of the effective and sustainable agricultural production with respect for the environment. Therefore we steadily invest in the environment-friendly technologies.
Poldanor launched the first agricultural biogas plant in Poland in 2005 and thereby started implementation of the program which assumed construction of 14 biogas plants in total nearby the company’s pig farms. At present we operate 8 biogas plants with a total capacity of 7.4 MWe.
Poldanor actively cooperates with institutions and organizations involved in renewable energy, as well as with scientific and research centres of universities in Poland and Denmark, in terms of promotion and development of Renewable Energy Sources.
We generate approx. 52 000 MWh of ‘green’ electricity annually in our biogas plants, which meets the demand of approx. 17 000 households, and thus, the achieved reduction of the greenhouse gas emission as CO2 equivalent amounted to over 210 000 t.
