European Union Days in Przechlewo
Between 14 and 16 May 2008, Przechlewo saw the 8th edition of European Union Days. As usual, the event was attended by young people from Poland, Denmark and Germany, with Poldanor S.A. being one of the sponsors.
The European Union Days are held every year in May and are marked by sports competition, which is enthusiastically welcomed by youngsters. The majority of the impressive events took place at a football ground beside the school. The weather was favourable, while keen competition and strong emotions brought the participants fond memories. The foreign guests were unlikely to complain on the boredom. On Wednesday, Przechlewo sports hall hosted girls’ handball and boys’ football tournament. But the highlights were due on Thursday and Friday. On Thursday until noon, the children took part in a canoe tour in the footsteps of Pope John Paul II. Later in the afternoon, the girls and boys competed in the international football tournament. In the evening, the European Union Days were officially inaugurated at the Fregata Restaurant, with arts performances and disco.
An important part of the event was the 18th International Cross-country Race with over 800 competitors from the region under the motto “Run with us: if you do not become a champion, you are certain to stay healthy”
The event was closed and summed up at the Hunting Dog Training Center in Przechlewko where all had an opportunity to taste roasted piglet.
