At the end of June, Poldanor was awarded the “Crystal HIT in Pomerania” for introduction of modern technologies in the arable production. The ceremony of presenting the awards took place in the castle in Krokowa, near Gdansk.

Traditionally, the awards were granted in six categories: manufacture, trade and services, ecology, agriculture and food processing, organization and management, self-government. Poldanor has so far been awarded twice in the following categories: ecology and business management and organization, in 2006 and 2007.

The technologies applied by Poldanor in the arable production makes it possible to keep more water in the soil, and make the arable work more efficient and economic. This is particularly important on the kind of low quality soils that Poldanor cultivates. Furthermore, land cultivation is enhanced by a GPS navigation system, and organic and inorganic fertilization adjusted to the soil structure and nutrient contents. The methods employed by Poldanor contribute to improvement of working conditions and reducing of fuel consumption, as well as the possibility to ensure optimum use of the machine park without affecting the yield, compared to traditional cultivation.

The fifth edition of the 2008 business HIT contest was arranged by Punkt S Marketing Agency, Pomeranian Province and Pomeranian Association of Village Municipalities. So far, over 100 companies, government institutions, establishments and associations have entered the contest.
