Another important investment in Poldanor’s employees – intensive English courses
More than 50 of Poldanor’s managers, foremen and specialists have attended an intensive English course since mid-September. This is the result of the PAMA project (Poldanor’s Agriculture & Management Academy) that started in July. One of its main goals was to start intensive language courses.
On the PAMA implementation meeting on 6th July 2006 one goal was presented: In two years Poldanor’s management should be able to communicate in English.
Not only will the knowledge of English language be useful in communication with the Danish managers in Poldanor, but also in frequent contacts with contractors and guests from abroad. But first of all, knowledge of English will be necessary at PAMA schooling center, where Poldanor is going to offer professional training, also to trainees from abroad.
The start of classes was preceded by analyzing the offers of different language schools from the region and other places. Eventually two schools were chosen to make the courses: Berlitz in Przechlewo and Giżyno, and Fast Way in Zegrze Pomorskie. Both of the schools offer similar methods of teaching English: Berlitz and Callan method. All participants of the courses had to accomplish a test, and the results were used to create groups of students at the similar level. Classes are held twice a week in three hour sessions for each group at all localizations and are financed by Poldanor.
