Aims of the Plant Production Department:
-
better utilisation of the natural fertiliser – liquid manure
-
reduction in smell onerousness when fertilising fields with liquid manure
-
reduction in consumption of diesel fuel; with use of proven techniques further reduction in consumption by 30% will be possible, which in case of Poldanor would mean reduction in emission of carbon dioxide by 1100 t per year – from tractors only
-
replacement of old types of tractors and other machines into newer ones, equipped with efficient engines with advanced technology and lower exhaust emission
-
testing and attempts at using technology for reduction in exhaust emission
-
testing and attempts at using biofuel the combustion of which does not result in exhaust emission
-
introduction of new varieties of plants with enhanced resistance, which would allow reduction consumption of plant protection agents by 30%
-
works on introduction of technologies to allow precise dosage of fertilisers through the wider application of satellite navigation systems in machines, as well as the use of autopilot function in tractors (so far this solution has been used in combine harvesters only) – by using GPS system and autopilots the working width of machines will be used more precisely in almost 100%; with the current width of 8 to 24 m, precise driving may be extremely difficult, which increases the risk of treatments to be overlapped and, in consequence, higher consumption of fertiliser, fuel, while precise dosage would cause reduction in consumption and costs by approx. 10%
-
raising the personnel’s qualifications
-
improvement in management methods used by the Plant Production Department
