Pomerania and West
Pomerania Province.
Poldanor’s farms are located in two northern provinces of Poland: Pomerania and West Pomerania.
Pomerania Province occupies the area of 18,000 km2. It is inhabited by 2.2 million people. The capital of the region is Gdansk. Most area of the province is forests and cultivated fields. Similarly to other parts of Poland, Pomerania struggles with high unemployment. 21 % of its inhabitants have no job.
The area of West Pomerania Province is 22,902 km2. It is inhabited by 1.7 million people. The capital of the region is Szczecin. The landscape of West Pomerania Province to a large extent is forests and arable lands are almost half of the area.
27 % inhabitants of the Province have no job, which places it the second in respect of unemployment rate in Poland.
The unemployment rate in Poland is above 17 %.
The stock of pigs in Pomerania and West Pomerania is low as compared to the areas of Poland where production is developed to the largest extent, e.g. Wielkopolska. As it results from the summary below, the number of pigs per 100 ha of land in Poland is considerably lower than in Denmark.
