These activities are strictly linked to the values appreciated by the company, such as respect for the community and open communication. Poldanor supports local communities through such actions as:
- financing cultural events,
- co-financing the renovation of local roads and other infrastructure in rural areas,
- sponsorship of sports clubs,
- financing events for children and the young,
- financing the needs of disabled and ill people,
- financing various initiatives supporting environmental protection.
“Naszyjnik Północy” Local Action Group Foundation – Integrated Development Strategy for Rural Areas For many years, Poldanor has financed the Foundation run by the “Naszyjnik Północy” Local Action Group. Through this activity the company supports and helps its neighbours by donating both material and financial assets. Furthermore, our participation and active involvement in local projects promoting the development and integration of local communities is another way of enacting the concept of CSR.
Cooperation with Farmers Supporting the development of Polish agriculture is also part of our mission. Poldanor implements this aspect of the strategy through:
purchase of cereals and cereal production under contracts with the company,
contracted pig production,
lease of land to farmers,
contracts with farmers for liquid manuring,
cooperation with agricultural schools and colleges (practical training locations, implementation of joint projects),
counselling in production methods.
Good Neighbourhood Poldanor allocates considerable outlays to various kinds of activities that reduce the occasional nuisances resulting from its operation. This particularly concerns limiting odours emitted during the fertilization of fields with liquid manure. A significant part in these efforts is played by our newly-built agricultural biogas plants. The technologies used in fertilization and its organization make a large contribution to reducing these problems. We also have a policy of notifying local residents in advance of planned fertilization. In principle, we do not apply liquid manure on fields situated near areas attractive to tourists, or at weekends.
Supporting Culture and Sports Financing cultural events, in particular participation in Polish-Danish cultural and sporting integration events, is another form of support for local communities. Traditional events supported annually by Poldanor include the “European Union Days” in Przechlewo. This event develops young people’s social awareness of the cultures of various European countries. Spending time together with young people from other countries, as well as sports competitions, help integrate different nationalities and cultures.
Each year, Poldanor SA co-hosts local harvest festivals, which are traditional elements of rural life.
